Unreasonable (2f No Nay Never – Silent Thoughts, by Galileo) shaped like a smart filly when making a winning debut in the fillies’ maiden at Cork on Wednesday.
Joseph O’Brien’s newcomer raced in touch for much of the mile contest and was shaken up after passing the three furlong pole. Ridden approaching the final furlong, she led close home to win by a next, with the front pair finishing three lengths and three quarters clear of the third.
Speaking after the race, winning rider Dylan Browne McMonagle said, “Unreasonable is a really nice filly. She travelled well and was plenty green when I went for her, but I liked the way she hit the line and she will come on plenty.”
Unreasonable was sold by Barronstown Stud at the Tattersalls Book 1 Sale to BBA Ireland and Newtown Anner Stud for 375,000gns. The daughter of No Nay Never is a half-sister to Listed winner Neptune Rock and the 90-rated Dream Harder.
